NuVola, Fujitsu's cloud platform will showcase Broadcast International’s CodecSys Encoder/Transcoder technology with demonstrations on Fujitsu Stand 1.F27
Salt Lake City, Utah July 12, 2012 – Broadcast International (BCST.OB), a leading provider of video management services and software for next generation video over IP networks, will be at IBC 2012 to showcase NuVola, the Private Cloud Transcoding Platform for powerful yet economical multi-media distribution. The appliance will be at show in Fujitsu’s Stand 1.F27 in Hall 1 of the RAI.
Developed as the result of a strategic alliance, the fully integrated solution combines NuVola, Fujitsu’s new line of private cloud-based appliances with Broadcast International’s CodecSys, a breakthrough, multi-codec video compression software to deliver a private cloud strategy powered by a flexible and scalable alternative to traditional hardware based encoders.
The solution relies on CodecSys to compress and optimize media files for a variety of associated bandwidth parameters leveraged by an increasing array of devices, including phones, tablets, laptops, PCs and even set-top boxes and game consoles. CodecSys’s multi-codec technology cuts bandwidth needs by up to 30% compared to traditional MPEG2 encoding technologies and eliminates proprietary, hardware-based appliances from the video optimization landscape.
“We are pleased to support Fujitsu and formally present NuVola to the European market at IBC 2012,” said Steve Jones, Senior Vice President and General Manager, CodecSys Division. “Utilizing a private cloud environment permits all aspects of the solution to be purpose built for performance, efficiency and availability. Operating under these ideal conditions, this video streaming solution leaps past legacy system limitations, whether delivering live or file-based media, by continuously matching the right profile to each delivery scenario.”
