(Fairport, New York) TriUnity Sound’s Jillian T. Kuchman has been chosen to Sound Design the Hollywood feature film, TEACHER OF THE YEAR. A Sound Designer is an individual ultimately responsible for many aspects of a film’s audio track, including sound effects, which are sounds recorded and presented to make a specific storytelling or creative point without the use of dialogue or music. As the film’s director Jason Strouse put it: “Basically, the audio of the production would not be as rich and realistic to the audience without the expertise of Jillian. Sure we could have hired locally (in Hollywood) and had many people offering to do the film, but felt TriUnity was the best fit for our production. Jillian worked with us on our ideas and our budget and the workflow has been seamless”.
Over the last couple of weeks, Jillian has been working hard at the DEBERGERAC PRODUCTIONS facility to get the film ready to go to the film festivals circuit. Jillian prefers to work with original material and has been to several locations gathering sounds and background effects for the film.
The highlight was hearing a group of budding teen actors to loop lines and crowd sounds normally heard in a school setting. “Thanks for including me,” said Lauren Sodano, who attended the gathering, “I had fun tonight!” The final mix is scheduled to be done in Hollywood later this month.
TEACHER OF THE YEAR, a production of Lower Merion Films, written and directed by Jason Strouse, is said to be a comedy/drama like “This is Spinal Tap” or the television series “Parks and Recreation”, “Modern Family” or “Best in Show”. Says Strouse: “If you like your comedy that way, you won’t be disappointed.”
