Description

David is an accomplished freelance picture editor/post-supervisor and a member of the Directors Guild of Canada. He has worked on a wide variety of productions and his most recent project is “PROM NIGHT IN MISSISSIPPI” which is currently doing the festival circuit.

For Film and Television he has worked on a wide variety of productions - reality series like “SOCCER DREAMS” for FOX, Feature films for Lion’s Gate, TV series & movies for CTV/CBC, Documentaries, Movie Trailers and award winning Music Videos.

Feature projects include dramatic films like "BLACK SWAN" for Lions Gate and documentaries like "WILLARD – THE HERMIT of GULLY LAKE" for Peace Arch.

In addition David has Online and Colour Correction experience, taught picture editing on Avid and Final Cut Studio and created the Asst. Editors course for the DGC.

Born in London, Ontario and raised in Waterloo he has been active behind and in front of the movie camera since the age of seventeen. His big break came first as a driver and then as an assistant editor in the Oscar winning film "Quest for Fire".

He has a BA from the University of Guelph and a Film Production Diploma from Conestoga College.

David Ransley has been in the industry since 1982.
