I'm a hard working, motivated, and creative individual that is seeking full or freelance work as a video editor within the Chicago area.
I am a 2007 graduate of Central Michigan University where I received the Broadcast and Cinematic Arts Award in April of 2007, the highest honor a BCA student can receive. At CMU I worked at the campus station producing a variety of television shows, including sitcoms, mock reality, magazine shows, cartoons, and sketch comedy programs. Almost every show that I have worked on has received a regional or national honor in college competition, and has helped bring recognition to CMU's Broadcast and Cinematic Arts Program.
Since graduating I have moved to Chicago to further my career as a video editor. In October 2008 I completed a post-production internship with Pixel Brothers where I assisted with Jerry Springer, The Steve Wilkos Show, and corporate video clients such as Wrigley. The experience was very rewarding with plenty of hands on experience, as I regularly shared responsibilities with the other assistant editors. It was an extremely fast paced environment with daily deadlines for two nationally syndicated television shows, and allowed me to continue building on my skills as an editor in a technologically advanced post-production facility.
I have most recently worked at PEAK6 Investments in Chicago where I was a post-production editor in their media department. I created videos for national television spots, internal training, financial education, and video content for their social networking website WeSeed.com where people can learn about the stock market.
I have been working with Final Cut Pro for the past five years, and found that I enjoy working as a video editor in post-production the most. With that in mind, I have developed other skills to keep myself well rounded, as I am proficient in field production, camera operation, lighting, audio post production, DVD authorizing and music recording/mixing.
