Description

My name is Kurtis Garza-Rupp and I am an audio enthusiast. I’m from the fiarly small Northwest Ohio town of Fremont. I started playing guitar when I was in 7th grade and a few of my friends started playing together and played all through high school. When I was about 15/16 I started getting interested in audio production after we recorded our first demo. That’s where it all began. Ever since then audio has been my world.

After graduating high school I decided to attend Ohio University in Athens, OH to major in Audio-Music Production under Eddie Ashworth (Pennywise, Sublime, Hideout Recordings). During my time at OU I learned about many aspects of audio production, including business and legal, pre production processes, production, post production, analog and digital board operations, DAW’s, microphone recording techniques, audio acoustics and room design and much, much more. I also broadened my interests and spent time with live sound, sound design for theatre, audio for film/video, field recording and even audio electrical engineering (reading schematics, repairs, circuit design, breadboarding, and soldering). In the spring of 2009 I graduated with a BS in Communications and I am currently seeking employment and/or freelance work in the media industry.

Kurtis Garza-Rupp has been in the industry since 2006.
