After serving our Country and fighting 2 wars in Desert Storm and Somalia, our head chef Matthew Kalan returned home safely, and decided to go back to his favorite hobby... cooking! Matt graduated from Westlake Culinary Institute, and worked for Los Angeles's critically acclaimed restaurant, "Firefly," in Studio City for 6 years. He was also trained by the notorious and respected chef, Kelly Courtney, a James Beard award winner.
