My name is Armando Luis Alvarez. I have over a decade of hands-on experience in TV and video production.
Having recently graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Media Studies,
I am moving to Manhatten next summer and seeking a job in the city to start immediately.

In the meantime, I have been working as a freelance digital video journalist, both independent and for
Patch.com while taking up an apprenticeship with Derrick Williams, a recognized industry professional.
Working with him has shown me the positive side to remaining freelance, but as he says "when I was young,
I needed to be grounded too."

During college, I worked for both the official Rutgers University Media Relations Department and the
student-run newspaper, The Daily Targum. During my last semester I produced over 25 short videos, wrote
eight articles with bylines and printed several photographs.

2010 has remained a busy year for me. From plans for a music video for the band I run in my free time,
to talks with a publisher to produce a thirty-minute documentary on the local Italian-American culture
in northern New Jersey, I find myself to be spread in every direction.

I've been through Europe - several times. I've lived in college town, and I've grown out of it. What I'm
looking for in life is a positive working environment with likeminded creative people who can depend on me
and upon whom I can rely on for a steady flow of work and room for growth.

When I sit down to edit on Final Cut Pro, hours will fly by. If a patient, hard-working, understanding
employee who will stay with you for the long haul is what you're looking for, then I'm your man.
