Shatterglass Studios is a full service video production company and film production studio dedicated to producing high-quality, high-impact new media. Based in the city of Champaign-Urbana in central Illinois, Shatterglass Studios is a creative agency of young filmmakers who pride themselves on understanding the intricacies of influential and meaningful new media, video production and film. We create television commercials, corporate branding videos, industrial videos, promotional videos and films. The technology we use, like the Red One camera, RED Scarlet-X Digital Cinema camera and Canon 5D Mark II allows us to develop the kind of films and videos that emanates the highest quality and effectiveness in your brand or message.
In 2007, Shatterglass Studios produced the award winning short film “Sugar“. Since that time, “Sugar” has been an official selection in over 15 film festivals and won such awards as “Best Cinematography”, “Best Editing”, “Best Short Film” and “The Grand Jury Prize”. The film has been viewed over 23,000 times on Youtube (and other sites) and has been seen in festivals around the world and has appeared on the front page of Funny or Die.
Members of Shatterglass Studios were also Co-Producers and Production Managers of the award winning dance-musical “Leading Ladies” (Summer 2009) starring Benji Schwimmer, (Season 2 winner of So You Think You Can Dance), Melanie LaPatin (choreographer of The Thomas Crowne Affair), cinematographer Pete Biagi (The Company and A Prairie Home Companion) and Tony Award winning costume designer Markas Henry (Elf, Thoroughly Modern Millie & Beauty and the Beast). The film recently won the 2010 Showcase Award at the Sonoma International Film Festival, played two nights at Newfest & received a positive review in Variety Magazine.
Our most recent production is called “The Drunk” and is currently in post-production.
Shatterglass Studios has been in the industry since 2006.

Ebertfest 2011 Retrospective Doc

Every year, Roger and Chaz Ebert, in association with the University of Illinois College of Media, puts on a 5-day film festival in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, Roger's home town. The festival takes place in one location: The historic Virginia Theater in the heart of downtown Champaign and major filmmakers, stars, historians, critics and film-lovers from all over the world come to experience this annual celebration of film that includes films both old and new, hand-picked by Roger himself with the help of Chaz and festival director, Nate Kohn.
This documentary is a 12-minute retrospective of the 13th annual festival which took place from April 27th to May 1st, 2011. Some of the guests included world-wide star Tilda Swinton (I Am Love). Directors like Richard Linklater (Me and Orson Welles) and Norman Jewison (Only You) and the multi-talented writer/director/actor, Tim Blake Nelson (Leaves of Grass).
