Description

Clennis is an old school guitarist and vocalist. He is the original guitarist for the old Houston Group , Archie Bell and the Drells, He sings, plays and records out of his small studio in Houston,under the HI-Sound Label. Clennis has a pieace of music "I could dance allnight" that recntly charted up to the top 25 on Australian independent Jazz Radio.
Clennis plays a type of stinging guitar that is hard to catagorize; some place it somewhere between Curtis Mayfield Smooth and Phil Upchurch's Clean...the closest thing to his sound I suspect is now labeled "smooth jazz.

In addtion, Music from 'The Cold Four', the name Archie Bell gave to the four young musicians who traveled with his group, has found its way to two current complilation CDs, Gangster Soul" and Chicano Soul-West San Antonio Style. The Title sound, Love and Care, was recorded by Clennis and his band mates in 1970...He is always writing, singing and recording something...and so the music continues
