Description

My name is Sabatino DiOrazio and I'm searching for a video editing position. I started out in the industry in 2001, shooting and editing private events for clients such as Ernst and Young and NYU Hospital, and have been for the since in the professional post production field, sometimes as an assistant editor to producer.

I interned as an assistant editor at Chimpanzee Production working under the direction of Thomas Allen Harris for his documentary “Through a Lens Darkly” exploring African American Photographers and their impact on history and culture since the inception of the camera. During my involvement with Chimpanzee Production I was an Avid Assist for Voom HD network, a division of Cablevision, on nights and weekends. I was given my first break into post production at The Creative Group in midtown from the ground up, although the years I spent as a videographer and the education I received in film school I learned great foundations in post production at The Creative Group. Starting as a digitizer I was taught multiple deck formats SD and HD, compressing video for internet delivery and I was made part of a team that was responsible for archiving over 60 episodes for the IFC channel's original content creating "best of" clips for their use as internet showreels.

When joining Brandies Production I went from digitizer to media coordinator and assistant editor in a short period of time when the studio took on AMC's Life Coach in addition to their well established interstitial AMC's Action Pack. My responsibilities grew to post production coordinator and I began to supervise color correct sessions and distribution of footage.

I have produced 30 second promotionals for NYC Bhangra Club, a club created to promote Indian culture through traditional dance, for their annual Holi Hai spring festival which are aired on Indian television Sahara One. In addition to editing the pieces I also had to direct the voice over talent.

I take pride in combing my love of cinema and art and like to produce projects that involve my skills as an editor, director, animator, and musician. So I include After Effects, Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator into my edits whether its on an Avid, Final Cut, or Premiere project. I like shooting with multiple cameras and so I edit in multicam as well as syncing and mixing audio tracks from multiple sources to get the best sounds possible.
