My name is Jaren Vine and I am reaching out to you in the hopes that you might have an opportunity for me to join your company in the production finance or production departments. I have a strong passion and energy and would like to be a part of your team.
To give you some background, I have over 15 years of production/production finance experience as most recently, the Production Controller at Alcon Entertainment (features films such as "The Book of Eli", "The Blind Side", "Something Borrowed", "Dolphin Tale" and the upcoming "Joyful Noise"). I was adamantly involved with the day to day operations of the productions and very well versed in cost reports, budgeting, hot costs, cash flow, scheduling, ad hoc analyses, unions, auditing, tax incentives, etc. I assisted in reconciling with the corporate finance group for their quarterly/annual closes and internal audits. I implemented various policies and procedures (e.g. accounting manual, chart of accounts and reporting) and created a foundation that streamlined the processes between internal and external parties. I worked in conjunction with business affairs and legal, production, corporate finance, marketing and creative. Once the productions were complete on location, I handled the post accounting through my office.
Prior to this position, I was with Disney for over 10 years in production finance (ABC Family and Disney Channel and ABC Studios) handling multiple series, pilots and MOW's for network and cable (live action, reality and animation). Budgets ranged between $500,000 to $5 million per episode with multiple seasons and numerous locations. Additionally, I worked with the ABC Family business manager on forecasting and planning for their programming slate.
Moreover, prior to going "corporate", I was a freelance production accountant.
I have a very strong background and solid resources/references throughout our industry as well as solid project management and communication skills.
