Description
Carol was raised in a small, farming and manufacturing community. Her parents grew up in the Northern Indiana region, leaving little hope for raising a family elsewhere. Both of Carol’s brothers did all they could to torture her. Regular sightings of Amish and horse-and-buggy combinations became normal, and 90 percent of the population attended one out of 25 churches in town. With a population of approximately 2,500, she graduated in the top 20 percent of her 199 peers. She was highly active in band, which included marching band, concert band, pep band and pit band.
After graduating high school in 2000, Carol went on to Bethel College (Mishawaka, IN) to continue her education. Originally an Education major, she took a break to work and think about what she wanted to do in life. Carol returned back to Bethel in 2003, this time with a Communication major. She graduated from Bethel in 2006 with a 3.2 GPA.
While at Bethel, Carol had the pleasure of holding two different internships. The first was for Hannah’s House (Mishawaka, IN) as a Public Relations Intern. During this internship, she learning how to think outside the box and expand her graphic design skills. Carol’s second internship was spent at the Bethel College Office of Public Relations, which allowed her to help the office become very organized, as well as taking on projects of her own and helping create a new design for their quarterly alumni magazine.
Jordan Automotive Group (Mishawaka, IN) served as a location for several of Carol’s new skills, which include SEO and SEM. She had the pleasure of creating a brand-new JordanAuto.com and JordanPowersports.com. Carol also helped Jordan raise traffic on their website and advance on social networks. Her time at Jordan was very enjoyable and one of her favorite places to be employed.
Carol is currently a freelance graphic and web designer. She also occasionally teams up with CinJa! Communication Arts on various projects. She also is the Web Developer Manager at Texas Collie Rescue, helping with their website redesign, social media networking and other various marketing tasks. About once a month, she also partakes in the overall editing of Poetic Monthly Magazine, which is an online- and print-based literary magazine. It currently is expanding, but slowly and excitingly.
Currently living in Mishawaka, Indiana, just five minutes from Notre Dame, the rest of her immediate family resides in parts of Ohio, specifically Cleveland and Columbus regions. Carol spends most of her time with her beloved Samantha, a Husky/Chow Chow mix, and reading the last of the Twilight Saga. From September to December, she can often be found on the weekend anticipating the victory of the Fightin’ Irish, often leaving her voice hoarse.
