Montoya is a Director, Cinematographer and Videographer.
He has 7 years experience in film, TV commercial, video art, web content, music video, viral video and more. After this years working as a writer, director, cinematographer and producer he understand very well the production needs of different kinds of projects. He is a very strong with rush times and very creative providing solutions for his clients.
He began his career doing promotional trailers for movies. At the same time, he began to develop his artistic career through Video Art and Installations. In 1993, the French government gave him the opportunity to showcase his work around the world. Subsequently, he directed the short film "Cabbage Patch Kids", featuring the music of Palenke Soul Tribe and produced by Altavista Films in Los Angeles. In 2010 Cabbage Patch Kids was in exhibition at the MOLAA (Museum of Latin American Art in California)
At the same time, he was visualizing, conceptualizing and copywriting for advertising agencies such as McCann Erickson, Young & Rubicam and Ogilvy & Matter. Montoya, along with the artist Amelia Amell, created HadaVoz, a collective of artists in Los Angeles.
In 2008 Montoya expanded his work into animation and photography.
Currently, Montoya writes and directs commercials, music videos, web content videos, guerrilla campaigns and branded films for companies such as Time Warner Cable, McDonald's, Nissan.
During 2011 he directed American Idol finalist's Karen Rodríguez's first music video.
He also directed two Fast Five/On Demand movie promotion television commercials featuring famous latin musician and actor Don Omar.
Most recently, he presented his last short film "Yin Y Yan" and is developing a feature film project for 2012.
