Description

Dirk started his film career on the bottom… of the earth that is, as a U.S. Navy Photographer/Motion Picture Production Specialist with U.S. Naval Support Force Antarctica, creating photographs, films and video of everything from scientific studies to dignitary visits.

Transitioning to civilian life and his current focus – editing, took many turns, from photography, stage-managing and theater lighting design to film production and finally post production that lead to two Emmy nominations.

In his fourteen-year experience as an editor he has excelled in many different aspects including: trailers, TV spots and video game marketing; the comedy pilot, “Cast Off;” the feature length documentaries: “The Great American Songbook” and “The History of Coming Attractions;” montages, documentaries and tributes too numerous to mention for award shows such as: The Academy Awards and The Emmy Awards.

Dirk is currently seen around Silverlake with his lovely wife Rebecca and their beautiful sons Noah and Rowan.

Dirk Meenen has been in the industry since 1993.
