Jade Thompson
Description
B I O
Jade Thompson is a creative, independent and innovative costume designer with high expectations and ambitions. Jade grew up with a love for art of all kinds. As an artist and musician, she wanted to merge her love for the arts with tangible one-of-a-kind creations.
Jade is a FIDM alumni who graduated top in her class (Magna Cum Laude) with an Associate of Arts degree in fashion design in June 2012. Jade was the FIDM scholarship award winner, and also received the privilege of being a guest speaker with Joshua Christensen from Project Runway Season 9 for FIDM’s Fall 2011 orientation.
She worked in high fashion as an assistant for Bert Keeter, also from Project Runway Season 9 doing cutting, hand sewing, assistant duties, and organizing on set for fashion shoots and backstage for runway shows. Soon after she worked as an illustrator for writer Moreen Littrell’s published novel, Lost in Manhattan.
While still attending FIDM in April of 2012, Jade attained a job as head costume designer juggling class work and the indie short film MEET THE ZILLAS starring Emmy nominated Blake Berris. MEET THE ZILLAS was written, directed, and produced by Moreen Littrell and lensed by award winning Ricardo Gale. Jade’s passion and work ethic allowed her to beautifully orchestrate over 70 quirky and campy high-art costumes needed in a one-month period on a $700 budget. MEET THE ZILLAS was shot in April and is now in post production.
Her most recent accomplishment was working as a stylist/wardrobe coordinator for actress Yangzom Brauen’s first feature film, WHO KILLED JOHNNY? Jade had the privilege of working styling European Celebrities Max Loong, and former Miss Switzerland Melanie Winiger, as well as European born U.S. actors such as Carlos Leal and Jordan Carver.
Jade is currently working as head costume designer for Fallout Shelter, a feature film directed by Blake Hodges, as well as costuming for up-and-coming grunge rock artist Bevin Hamilton’s newest music video.
Jade Thompson has been in the industry since 2011.
