Hello, my name is Oliver Horvat and I am a recent graduate of New York University and am very interested in working with you. As a film major, I have a passion for working and collaborating with others and I feel that I could greatly contribute to your company. Working with you would allow me to utilize all the skills I have developed at NYU and my other jobs and internships.
Academically, my extensive work in the film department has allowed me to gain much technical, administrative and organizational knowledge. I have worked on many film projects in various positions, oftentimes having to quickly learn new protocols and skills in a short time while in a hectic environment. I have given much creative insight on projects to make them the best they can be. And while I love collaborating with others, I also have experience working independently.
At my first internship with Broadway Video, I learned a lot about the post-production process while attending to important clientele and making sure all of their needs were met. Working at NYU's production center as a Technical Assistant, I aided in the checking in and out of equipment for students, filling out the necessary paperwork, answering any questions students had, as well as examining the equipment for damages and necessary repairs. While at my internship with Susan Shopmaker Casting, I worked as Susan’s personal assistant by answering her phone calls, preparing for her upcoming casting sessions, maintaining her databases and attending to other administrative duties such as filing, copying and general errands. At my most recent internship with the Weinstein Company, I worked heavily with the marketing department, compiling reports for upcoming films set for release, promoting films on official Weinstein social media pages as well as brainstorming marketing strategies for Weinstein's fall line up of films - including The Iron Lady, My Week With Marilyn, The Artist, and more. I also have additional service experience with CheckIn Tech, LLC where I currently work – I not only manage lengthy guest lists but I also assist patrons in directing them to facilities specific to each event location.
