Description

My name is Jossie Barroso and I am a trilingual, self-motivated and creative video production storyteller with a specialty in social media marketing. I am currently a Project Manager at Chatter Buzz Media in Orlando, FL, where I handle client projects and manage team members with project tasks.

I recently graduated from the University of Florida in early May 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunications Production. I would like to pursue a career in the film and TV industry. I believe that media can take you anywhere: to the moon, to South Africa, the White House, and even the make believe worlds of books and haunted stories. The technological culture today is so much different than in the past, and we have to utilize it in order to benefit from its fullest potential.

My classes, jobs and internships have given me experience and leadership skills that I can use at your company. I am adept in various non-linear editing systems, especially in Final Cut Pro. I also have experience in marketing and design due to my Communications Coordinator and Public Relations leadership positions within Lambda Theta Alpha, a national Hispanic-based women’s academic and service sorority. I am adept in After Effects and other Adobe programs. I have also made production documents during my experiences in my production classes, such as production logs and schedules for shoots. I have organized footage in the past to make videos and films.

My current job at Chatter Buzz Media has taught me delegation and patience. I now have skills with Google Adwords and Google Analytics, basic HTML, social media, and digital marketing. Working within a small company has taught me to wear various hats - one day I might be working on a website client, the next day I could be working with PR for another client. I have also kept the company's video archives and have monitored their YouTube account.

My previous internship at the Pledge 5 Foundation has taught me to be creative with events. I created a commercial for the company’s biggest event of the semester, Gator Stompin’. This internship has utilized my interpersonal skills to the fullest, and has made my work ethic stronger than ever.
My past leadership positions, such as Video Director for Hispanic Heritage Month in 2011 and Vice President for Upstart Film Clubs have taught me how to excel professionally.

As you can see, I am a bright and hard-working woman ready to continue my future career in TV and film.
