As an alumnus of the University of Central Florida, I feel confident in an assertion that I have both enjoyed and made the best of my time spent as a Radio/TV Production student at the UCF. Obtaining an education that focused on non-traditional forms of learning, such as hands-on activities working with sophisticated production equipment, I have discovered was ultimately the right fit for me. As someone who simultaneously appreciates the analytical (my minor is in Psychology) and the creative, the dynamic field of audio and video production feels like the perfect fit. And now that I have been out in the 'real world' for the past year or so, I have had time to consider exactly which realm of the production industry I would like to end up in.
I have a few career-oriented goals. Particularly, I yearn to work in some facet of video production; whether this will mean an independent production house that offers a variety of production services or working for a TV studio that focuses on more specific projects has yet to be seen. My future goals include pursuing a graduate degree in a field of communications research that involves a personal passion of mine—the influence of new media technology on society as a whole. Overall, I am striving to merge my love for both the technical and the creative side of media production in general, and television production specifically.
