As a result of many years of my commitment to music, I will be extremely grateful for an internship opportunity in my field of choice mastering. Music has been an integral part of my life since my first guitar was placed in my hands at the age of four. An internship at a mastering house will allow me to take that crucial step towards following my passion of becoming a engineer.
By the time I was 13, I was studying classical guitar in a formal setting and playing in numerous local bands in my hometown of Tucson, Arizona. I pursued my musicianship with the guitar, bass guitar, and upright bass in numerous projects. By 2006, I was fortunate to be involved with an Arizona touring band that gained a lot of label activity.
My incredible attention to detail led me to be heavily involved with the sound quality of our band’s music. As I began to focus more and more on our recording and mixing, I decided to step behind the studio walls and into the chair.
About three years ago, I began researching about my favorite engineers. I worked to understand what they used and how they used it. After a year of self study, I thought it would be beneficial to go to school for something I loved. After a lot of inquiry into how the sound engineering schools worked and what they offered, I weighed all the schools that were out there. That’s when my search brought me to SAE. Not being able to afford school at the time, I started working towards my goal of admission to SAE.
After two years of working on friends’ projects, all my cards finally fell into place. Now that I am in school, I work every day tirelessly making sure I do the best I possibly can. I have accumulated one of the highest total studio hours in my graduating class. My life is dedicated to audio and everything about the industry.
Now just as graduation nears, I think it’s time for me to pursue a real studio environment. This will allow me to expand my skills in audio. My research has again led me to a recording studio that will allow me to gain invaluable knowledge from industry professionals and further my career as an audio engineer. I know a good studio will provide a great opportunity for me to gain experience in audio. Additionally, I will be able to display my sincere integrity and commitment to my chosen career of making music and all audio sound sonically the best I possible can.
