The Santa Barbara International Film Festival is an eleven day event held in the seaside resort city of Santa Barbara, California (90 minutes north of Los Angeles). SBIFF is proud to present a diverse slate of more than 200 films to over 50,000 film enthusiasts. Our audience is a unique combination of film industry professionals, the local community, and a large student population.
In addition to showcasing a diverse spectrum of films, tributes, galas, and special events, SBIFF offers seminars with industry professionals,as well as provocative Q&A sessions with filmmakers.
SBIFF has established itself as a premier international film festival, and we look forward to building on that success in 2009. In addition to expanding our slate to include a Spanish and Latin American films section, and developing our educational outreach with the 10-10-10 youth filmmakers project, we also host many special presentations, including: the Opening & Closing Night Galas, Centerpiece Film, and celebrity tributes.
