Jack Gerbes
Director Maryland Film Office
Jack Gerbes has been a member of the Maryland film office staff since 1991. He was appointed director of the office in 2002. During his tenure at the Maryland film office, jack has worked on over 70 feature films and/or television series. His credits include “Live Free or Die Hard” , “Rocket Science”, Step Up 2”, “Ladder 49”, “Enemy of The State”, “12 Monkeys”, “Wedding Crashers”, and “Syriana”. In 2003 Jack received The Guardian Angel Award from Women in Film and Video, and in 2004, Jack was named a Baltimorean of the year by Baltimore Magazine.
Donald Thoms
Donald Thoms, CINE President, ThomsMediaGroup, LLC
Donald Thoms is the President of ThomsMediaGroup. Prior to this, he served as vice president of Talent Development for Discovery Studios. In this role, Thoms oversaw efforts to scout and secure on-screen talent for Discovery Studios productions. Additionally, he served as Discovery Studio’ primary liaison to the talent community as he worked to identify and develop new on-air personalities to appear in series, specials and short form content created by Discovery Studios
Prior to joining Discovery Studios, Thoms has was vice president, Production for Discovery Health Channel/Discovery Health Media Enterprises. In this role, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Discovery Health production team and was responsible for a wide array of original and co- productions. In addition, he steered the strategic planning for Discovery Health productions, the management, and execution of all content, as well as managing parallel production plans among television, online, new media, and other businesses.
During Thoms’ time with Discovery Health Channel, the network saw double-digit growth in ad sales revenue and ratings and many the network’s most successful projects were grown under Thoms: NATIONAL BODY CHALLENGE, DR G: MEDICAL EXAMINER, YOU: THE OWNER'S MANUAL, MYSTERY DIAGNOSIS, PLASTIC SURGERY: BEFORE and AFTER, LIFELINE, SUPER SURGERY AND BIRTHDAY LIVE! He is also responsible for nurturing the talents of Dr. Jan Adams, respected plastic surgeon, Dr. Mehmet Oz, world renowned heart specialist, Dr. Drew Pinsky, famous doctor to the stars in the area of addiction, as well as Dr. Jan Garavalia, Sara Snow, Dan Ho, and Nathan Lyon. Thoms also opened new opportunities for independent and minority filmmakers at Discovery Health with projects like CLOSE TO HOME, by Vanessa Roth, DANGEROUS DECEPTION: LIFE ON THE DOWN LOW by Michael Smith and Johnny Symon’s MEN HAVING BABIES all premiering on the network.
Prior to joining the Discovery Health network, Thoms was Vice President of Program Management at PBS where he was responsible for overseeing the packaging and delivery of PBS’s programming services. In addition, Thoms developed and evaluated programming projects as well as helped to develop on-air promotional initiatives for key programs. While at PBS, Thoms was liaison for independent and minority producers coming to public television. He created PBS’s series, INDEPENDENT LENS, which featured the works of independent filmmakers and the INDI SCENE, an extensive website promoting independent productions on PBS.
A native of Baltimore, Thoms currently is President of CINE the 50-year-old organization that recognizes excellence in film and video making. He is a former member the Board of Governors for the National Capital/Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).
Mathew Tombers, CINE Immediate Past President, Intermat, Inc.
Mathew Tombers is Managing Director of Intermat, Inc., a television company which executive produces programs and consults with industry companies on a variety of issues. Intermat, Inc. is currently involved in approximately thirty hours of television in various stages for a variety of networks. He is one of the Executive Producers of OFF TO WAR, a ten hour series for Discovery Times and for a one hour on international adoptions for Discovery Health. He has consulted a variety of companies, including Ted Turner Documentaries, WETA, Betelgeuse Productions, and Creation Films, Lou Reda Productions as well as many others.

Rosemarie M. Levy is the Business Agent for The Mid-Atlantic Studio. Mechanics and Broadcast Technicians Local 487, I.A.T.S.E. Since her election in 1996 Rosemarie Levy has been negotiating contracts with the “Major Studios” and Independent production companies, administrating collective bargaining agreements, promoting and securing employment
opportunities for the members as well as establishing a rapport with numerous State and Governmental officials.
Prior to her election to The Mid-Atlantic Studio Mechanics Rosemarie M. Levy held positions with “I.A.T. S. E. International” receiving assignments through-out
the country, Local 52, I.A.T.S.E. as their Philadelphia representative and maintained an Executive Board position with Local 487 since 1992. Ms. Levy is a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree from The School Of Communications.
