Named "2011 Best Film Festival" by the Boston Phoenix and deemed by Moviemaker as one of 2008's Film Festivals Worth The Fee, the Independent Film Festival of Boston, founded in 2003, is the premiere festival in New England. Due to audience demand, in 2005 IFFBoston expanded from four to six days and since then has expanded to 8 days. Our next event will take place April 25- May 2, 2012 in various venues across the Greater Boston area including the historic Somerville Theatre, Brattle Theatre, Stuart Street Playhouse Cinema and Coolidge Corner Theatre.
IFFBoston showcases approximately 80 films, holds nightly parties, daily panel discussions, and has an awards ceremony where 6 or more prizes are given out at values up to $20,000. In 2003 there were 10,000 attendees and 10 sold out shows. By 2010, we'd steadily grown to 23,000 attendees and hosted many sold out shows.
