Event Details

"How to break down copy to achieve what you need in 1 or 2 takes. And learn to get what you need from the director."

This workshop will cover techniques actors can use to understand and process direction for better on camera performances, during auditions and shoots. Topics covered will be directions actors will encounter and how to best understand what the director is looking for, in addition to the terminology used.

There will be a review of what to expect in the process of receiving directions and how to best maximize the process to reach your best performance level. Also, the situation where the director communicates in an unclear way, and how an actor can respond will be addressed . The focus of this class will be learning how to improve a performance from take one to the last take and how to work with the director as you refine the performance.

These techniques can also be applied to audition direction helping actors show workability and responsiveness that director's look for in a casting.
