Ok, droniacs. Let's take the $83,000 explosion proof DJI drone out of this conversation and focus on the more reasonable DJI Mavic 2 Pro. The $1499 price tag is one of the higher priced gifts on the list, but it's well worth the cost. TheDJIi Mavic 2 Pro is an affordable drone that will provide a solid stepping stone as you acquire more experience. Here are the specs:

GoPro HERO7 Black

The GoPro HERO7 Black rocks. I liked the HERO 6 from last time so much I now want the HERO7. If you're an adventurer, this camera has to be on your wish list. Why? Each generation of GoPro improves and the HERO7 Black is no exception.

The GoPro HERO7 Black supports up to UHD 4K60/50 video resolutions and captures 2.7K120/100 slow motion and super-slow motion video at rates up to 1080p240/200. Still images can be captured in up to 12MP resolution in bursts of up to 30 images per second. Like its predecessor, The HERO7 Black is also waterproof to 33', making it a great fit for surfing, boarding and all around outdoor activities.

Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless Bluetooth Headphones

Nothing says quality quite like an audio product with the classic Sennheiser logo. If you're really picky about audio, pick this headset. These headphones are very high-quality, extremely comfortable and built like a brick. Oh yeah, and they sound fantastic. The sound is very clear, with a super response and solid noise cancellation. I have gone through a lot of headsets in my day, and these might be my favorite.

Focusrite SCARLETT Studio Pack

Setting up your own home vlogging studio? Perfect. Gotta go mobile? Perfect. If you need an easy to set up small studio audio package, this would be my go-to choice. One of the things I like the most is that it comes in a completed package. The Focusrite SCARLETT Studio Pack is absolutely a must have for up and comers.

DaVinci Resolve 15 Studio

For $299 Resolve 15 packs a lot of bang for your buck. There are so many features packed into the studio package. Editing? Of course. Color Grading? Check. Robust audio controls via Fairlight? Yes. Fusion VFX Compositing? Included. I personally loved the multicamera feature as well. This would make the perfect gift for the editors in your life.

If you are like me, opening a box with brand new gear is almost as good as Christmas no matter what time of the year. It was pretty straight forward, as one might expect. Inside the well-cushioned box, I found the aforementioned ThunderBay 4 Mini preloaded with 4 OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G 2.5 “ 1TB SSDs. You can buy just the enclosure and use your own drives if you want, but still being on the learning curve, I was glad we were all loaded up and ready to go. You can always expand your storage capacity when you need too.

But let’s face it, cinematic shallow depth of field and fast prime lenses will not cut it for next year’s Super Bowl. Viewers are accustomed to watching the news, sports and live events from a certain broadcast perspective.
