Interview with Emmy Nominated Editor on Mrs. America
Editor Robert Komatsu just received an Emmy nomination for editing the pilot episode of Mrs. America titled "Phyllis." Aside from this nomination, Mrs. America received nine other Emmy nominations for Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie (Cate Blanchett), Outstanding Supporting Actress for a Limited Series or movie (Tracey Ullman, Margo Martindale, Uzo Uduba), among others.

Cannes Lions Winning Editor Ernie Gilbert Talks Creative Strategy Behind 'This is America' Music Video
Director/Editor Ernie Gilbert has a pretty outstanding track record when it comes to his stint in the industry — including assistant editing on Emmy, Golden Globe and Peabody award-winning shows like Baskets (FX), Atlanta (FX), and Barry (HBO). He has also worked with some of the largest ad agencies in the world and brands like Jordan, DirectTV, Banana Republic, Reebok, American Eagle and Fox Sports. In addition to his film work, he has edited music videos for the likes of John Legend, Trippie Red, 2 Chainz, Schoolboy Q, Linkin Park, Portugal the Man and Shawn Mendes. In 2018, Ernie was nominated for a VMA for best editing on Childish Gambino's "This is America," which has over 500 million YouTube views.

Editors, Sound Designers & VFX Artists Share Their Secrets at MEW’s 6/8 EventBy N. HalpernOn June 18th, the Manhattan Edit Workshop presented “Inside the Cutting Room: Sight, Sound and Story,” a series of panels on post-production techniques. The day’s events included panels that ran the gamut from picture editing, to sound design and visual effects. Here are some highlights from the day’s panels.In the afternoon panel “Anatomy of a Scene: Documentary and Narrative Editors Deconstruct their Work” film editors Michael Berenbaum, David Tedeschi, Jeffrey Wolf, and David Zieff screened and discussed sequences from documentary and narrative film projects, charting the processes of their respective developments.

The Reality Of Being An Actor Working From Home
As a full-time professional voiceover artist, I wasn’t sure how much my work would change as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. After all, I already had my website and portfolio built at voicebymaria.com, I had a ProductionHub profile, I had already built a broadcast-quality studio in my home office (it was quite a challenge for my husband to get my StudioBricks OnePlus booth into my office after the delivery people dropped it off in our driveway!). And I was familiar with Zoom years before everybody started using Parks & Rec sets as silly backgrounds to amuse their co-workers. I’ve been recording, editing, conference-calling and participating in live-directed sessions from my professional home studio for eight years now, voicing commercials for national brands such as Pillsbury, Panera, Hoover and Dannon.
