4 Tips to Help Cinematographers Choose Their Next Film & Director
My name is Eli Hershko and I am a photographer turned cinematographer turned director. It was a natural progression for me. I always was drawn to the moving images. I love being involved in the making of movies but I do not tend to shoot my own films. I just can't focus on both the actors and the image at the same time and since they both are equally important in my eyes I tend to look to a cinematographer that can take on the heavy toll of putting my story on film... or digital film in my case.

Always Create: How One Director Turned An Unexpected Setback Into a Holiday Film
When a big part of your job is creating art for commerce, it’s really easy to get busy with the commerce side of things and forget to feed your artist side. Ten years ago, a friend of mine got a tattoo that said: “All Ways Create”. The spelling was intentional, he’s a versatile artist of many mediums. The point is, I’ve never known him not to be working on his own projects alongside his corporate and commercial work.

2014 Sundance Selection: Me+Her
Director Joseph Oxford and cinematographer Bradley Stonesifer created a unique live action short film “Me+Her,” which was accepted into this year’s Sundance Short Film program. What makes this film so special is that Joseph and Bradley created an incredible imaginary world where all of the main characters and sets were built out of standard cardboard boxes. Before You Hire A Director for Your Next Project, Read This
“How many of you have you ever hired an architect?” I asked this question in a presentation on Video Marketing I gave recently to the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Only one person in the audience raised their hand. I wasn’t surprised. I asked the question because I thought I knew what an architect did, until I actually hired one. Then I found out that (just like directors) architects do all sorts of things I never thought they did. Early on in my career an architect pulled me aside and explained to me that many people who might want to hire me, have no real idea what it is I actually do? He suggested I include a worksheet outlining my process in my marketing materials and I’ve found it to be a really valuable road map for clients to better understand how we work together.
