When it comes to packing up a filming set you want to be as attentive as possible. After all, filming equipment can be quite expensive and terribly fragile. This makes packing them properly not only recommendable but necessary. So, without further ado, let's look at some tips that should help you pack your filming set properly and ensure its safety.
As they say, necessity is the mother of invention, and what production crews are inventing during the pandemic will benefit the industry long after we round the COVID bend. If there's a silver lining to necessities we wouldn't volunteer to face, the inventions might top the list.
Just in case you haven’t been paying attention or have been living under a rock, we are now way past the intro stage of drones, to a full force invasion of epic technology. The drone(s) for the film and video production world have changed so many of the dynamics of production, from planning and safety, and FAA regulations, to getting shots that just couldn’t have been possible even a few year ago.
Here's something you're going to learn in film if you haven't already: NOTHING goes as planned. If things go 80% according to plan, you may just be working in a big-budget Hollywood studio! Or not; things don't go as planned for the "big dogs" either — consider Apocalypse Now. I work with many productions in South Florida with Moving Picture Rental — and if anywhere is unpredictable, it's Florida. Here are some things I've learned along the way.
As the technology evolves and becomes more accessible, virtual reality (VR) is finding its way into unexpected places. The result means unlimited potential for creating completely immersive virtual environments for everything from designing cars in midair to building virtual film sets.

That question is: “Are we there yet?” It seems to be the overwhelming theme over the last month doesn’t it? To be honest, I think that the jury is still out. In some areas remote truck production “seems” to be working. Some mobile units are carefully rolling out and taking on new “remote” productions full stream ahead. Other truck owners are still taking a 'wait and see' approach and working in what I call a “hybrid” work model. Let’s face it, our audiences are wanting more than ever. Higher production values in all productions have never been more important. I think we all get that, right? What about the technical specifications of those challenges? Will the gear you choose be able to deliver not only that engaging content, but do it seamlessly and not fall down on the job? Today’s creative content creators and streamers have so many challenges to not only create compelling content, but to do it in less time, with tighter budgets and more agile production staff. They also may have the new additional challenges of live streaming which can present another whole set of technical parameters that need to be addressed in order to get that fabulous content to the house.
