At the risk of upsetting the visual creatives out there, I’m just going to go ahead and call BS on the idea that when it comes to video, music is only kind of important. Like those guests who are kind of important enough to be invited to your wedding, but then find themselves sitting at the kids’ table.

Music licensing commonly refers to 'royalty free music' or 'production music'. This is music that has been written and produced with the sole purpose of being used in another project. Anyone can then license this music for a fee, to use in their project.

If you took a second to close your eyes and think about Star Wars, what comes to mind? What are you hearing? Laser blasters, light sabers, possibly a dramatic score by John Williams? For the major films in pop culture, music plays a major role in developing the themes and tone of the production.
