Production Gear Update: The Early Look at 2022
As someone who is really into production equipment, I'm always on the lookout for whatever will help you do what you want to do on your production. My thoughts always circle around product performance and overall production value. This matters because what might be important to you might not be as important to another production pro. If you buy it or rent it, what can this product do for you and will it help you make more money?
The Art of Creativity with Carissa Dorson : A ProductionHUB Exclusive
When talking to production professionals like DP Carissa Dorson, I've found time and time again that there are certain topics such as creativity, work ethic, technical knowledge, and joy, that make their way into almost every conversation. We touched on all of those topics with Carissa as well as some background as we pulled back the curtain on this very talented and hardworking DP.
We caught up with Carissa as she was still immersed in production with A Little Late with Lilly Singh, currently airing on NBC.
NAB Show 2023 Celebrates its 100th Anniversary
When I saw that 2023 was the 100th Anniversary of the National Association of Broadcasters Show I knew that 2023 was going to be special. If you stop and think about it, 100 years of just about anything is really a big deal, right? So, no matter if this is your 1st NAB or your 25th NAB Show (or more) I can guarantee that there will be new technology or some cool product or service that will make you stop in your tracks and give you that “wow” moment. One of my many big wow moments? Go ahead and take a step back with me on the time machine. Out of nowhere comes the Video Toaster! Yes, that one. The original Video Toaster. You couldn’t get anywhere near the booth; it was wall to wall attendees five to ten deep. It was like so much digital techno marvel magic all in one box. Complete with those iconic KiKi effects as well!

Keep on reading for some more incredible gift ideas along with additional input from ProductionHUB's very own Mike Valinsky, as well as some other highly respected (and familiar!) production professionals.
4K Cameras Become the Norm at NAB 2015
by Carl Mrozek
This is the 19th consecutive year I’ve attended NAB in quest of the ideal digital video camera, and ideally one that is somewhat affordable. Of course one man’s ideal is another’s disappointment, and likewise with affordable. However, at the largest production media trade show in the world, NAB 2015, there were more than a few cameras that nearly fit my criteria. This included wide dynamic range, a wide range of frame rates, more than one robust recording codec, smart design and of course great imaging.
Cinematographer Alicia Robbins Talks Working on Season 17 of Grey's Anatomy
Cinematographer Alicia Robbin’s work can be enjoyed on the latest season (17) of ABC’s iconic medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy, airing weekly on Thursdays at 9/8c. Robbins, who previously shot Season 16, is Shondaland's first female cinematographer and the only female DP to date for Grey’s Anatomy.
'Tis the Season for the best Non-profit Videos
December is here and that can only mean one thing: tis the season for hot chocolate, jingle bells, and - in ProductionHUB world - nonprofit videos. So in the spirit of some good ole, Saint Nick-inspired altruism, we’re ringing in the holidays by showcasing a couple of our favorite nonprofit videos. From health care to special needs children, and foster care parents to programs for disabilities, these best-of-the-best videos were designed to inform, inspire and tell a story, and they don’t disappoint.
