We’ve started hosting virtual screenings of our film-based education events, which include discussion panels and audience Q&A.

It can be slightly overwhelming wrapping your head around all the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival has to offer. From checking out the 60 short films screening to listening to Clint Eastwood and learning about "The Future of Film", this year’s festival seems like it will be full of yet another week of amazing attendees, panels, events and of course, star-studded cinematography in the city that never sleeps.

The most unique part about Canon’s activation this year is going to be their lounge, themed “Canon Creative Studio.” It is designed to demonstrate how Canon can help filmmakers in every phase of production. There will also be a number of sponsored education sessions and panel discussions with directors and DPs including a special screening of the film Bending the Light followed by a lively Q&A with Stephen Goldblatt, ASC, BSC, spotlighting the creative process, the craft of cinematography, and the Canon Cinema EOS lenses and cameras that help bring their stories to life (full schedule of events below).

On January 29th, a crowd of badge-wearing cinematographers and professional filmmakers gathered into a hip downstairs lounge in the heart of Park City, UT. The purpose? To meet and hear from some of the industry’s most-talented cinematographers with feature films screening at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.

Haunting short film, “We Can’t Go On” created by creative team Amanda Dreschler and Michael Livingston is screening in Burbank, California on August 25. This production dynamic duo wrote, produced, directed, shot, edited and star in this self-referential and timely study of pandemic life for a filmmaking couple waiting for news.

TWO BELLMEN, the first original short film production from Marriott International, Inc.’s Content Studio, will have its world premiere on March 10th, 2015 with a global YouTube launch, as well as a gala screening and party at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE. The iconic JW Marriott property plays a starring role in the film. We interviewed director, Daniel “Malakai” Cabrera to get an inside look into this amazing production.

Orlando Film Festival celebrated it’s eleventh year by screening over 50 features and upwards of 250 shorts. For five days, filmmakers and fans gathered at Cobb Theater to attend panels, network and support their favorite pieces. It was an amazing showcase of what makes 21st independent film so great, with work from seemingly every genre represented. Whether or not you were there for Best Picture winner Te Ata, the inspirational story of a Chickasaw woman who made her fame educating early 20th century America and the world about her culture at a time when her own customs were illegal under the law, or Indie Spirit award-winner Shooting Clerks, a biopic about the making of Kevin Smith’s cult classic Clerks or any number of the truly impressive short films that made their debuts this weekend, OFF has undoubtedly primed many amazing films for public viewership beyond the festival circuit.

Erik Angra is an American director, cinematographer, and editor. Son of Indian immigrants, he is the youngest person to receive the sole credit of editor on a Ken Burns film. He began his career touring alongside hardcore punk musicians across the US, releasing the footage in 2006, featuring rare performances from some of the last shows at the infamous CBGBs in New York.
