Malinda Zehner Guerra was recently Emmy-nominated for her editing work on the fourth and final season of A Black Lady Sketch Show, for which she worked alongside an all female editing team. Her co-nominees include Taylor Mason and Stephanie Filo, both of whom have previously made history for their inclusion in the first all Black editing team to win an Emmy, for their work on last year's season of A Black Lady Sketch Show.

Creative Culture Focuses on Diverse Storytelling with Blackmagic Design
Located in Pleasantville, NY, the Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) developed its Creative Culture fellowship program to help champion underrepresented voices and diverse storytelling. Now in its fourth year, Creative Culture has helped 35 filmmakers create projects that have been selected by top tier film festivals, such as Sundance, Berlinale, and SXSW, and acquired by Fox Searchlight, POV, NY Times Op Docs, and Staff Pick’d at Vimeo. This includes recent projects such as Adam Meeks’ “Union County” which premiered at this year’s Berlinale, and Crystal Kayiza’s “See You Next Time” which was selected at Sundance 2020 and recently acquired by The New Yorker.

Jules O'Loughlin, one of the cinematographers on Disney+’s Ms. Marvel (episodes 4 and 5), as well as FX's new drama series, The Old Man (3 and 4). She recently spoke with us about the portions of Ms. Marvel she worked on, which filmed in Thailand, which included extreme weather conditions and close collaboration with the VFX team. She also delved into working on The Old Man, based on a novel by Thomas Perry and set in North America, which required a much different perspective.
