What It's Like Shooting VR during a Pandemic
Recently, I was contacted through ProductionHUB to shoot a VR video tour for Lima Corporate, an international, cutting edge medical device manufacturer and 3D printer. The facility is connected to NYC’s Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). Lima’s engineers work directly with HSS surgeons to 3D print titanium medical devices, which help patients regain lost physical mobility. I was excited for the opportunity, but there was one caveat—we were in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

Why Young Production Companies Should Leverage Data Analytics
According to Thomas Friedman, author of The World is Flat, technological advancements in communication and data collection have leveled the playing field for SMEs. Large corporations are now in direct competition with smaller, localized businesses who can provide equivalent services, as well as offer that “personal touch.” As a fledgling production company, you need to utilize every available tool, like data analytics, to successfully compete against established companies.
This is How Quality Customer Service Boosts Customer Outreach
Large production companies have access to state-of- the-art technology, teams of professionals, and a wide customer base. As a small production business, you want to avoid competing with larger companies and focus on your strengths. Smaller, service-based event management or production businesses can offer personal, quality customer service unmatched by their bigger competition.
What Makes A Production Company Successful?
Whether you manage a fledgling production business or a large company, you have to adapt to the times. It could be a slow period when cuts to your team and budget are made, or a bountiful year with profit enough to invest in new opportunities. Service companies mostly conduct business in a buyer’s market, which means making the right cuts and investments prior to a change in the economic tide can mean the difference between success and failure.
