This student TV pilot is part of the Senior Project sequence within the Multimedia Film and Production major at Georgia Southern University. This is a non-union call, and compensation will only include food, gas reimbursement, copy, and credit.

Auditions will take place on the campus of Armstrong State University in Savannah, GA on Saturday, 1/20, from 10-4 pm. Please see album for detailed information, including breakdowns.

In-person auditions will be prioritized over self-tapes, but recorded auditions MAY be considered on an as-needed basis following the live casting on Saturday.

SYNOPSIS: The lines between a predominantly white college institution and a neighboring historically black college university are blurred after a diverse group of students witness a shooting at a homecoming party. Based off of W.E.B. DuBois’ theory of double consciousness, The Veil tackles one of the most prominent issues in the black community; identity.

**All characters are African American unless otherwise noted.**

DONNY, early 20s, aspiring YouTube star, just had his heart broken by Angela, and is looking for a new direction.

ANGELA, early 20s, a member of a female social sorority who has had enough with irresponsibility from her friends, her partners, and is looking for something different.

CHELSEA, late teens/early 20s, is an aspiring member of Angela’s sorority. She’s a fan of the finer things in life and enjoying all they have to offer.

TOM, early 20s, deals drugs on campus but is trying to leave it behind.

NATE, early 20s, stopped selling for Tom until he needed money for an engagement ring so he can propose to his girlfriend.

DWAYNE, early 20s, a first-generation student from the streets, works two jobs and deals drugs on the side to put himself through school.

DARIUS, early 20s, a star athlete bound for the professional leagues upon graduation, tries to keep Dwayne out of trouble.

SHAWN, early 20s, a pretty boy who hangs with Dwayne and Darius.

TAMARA, early 20s, has already found her calling as a DJ, no thanks to her boyfriend.

YANNA, early 20s, is an aspiring Broadway star from a rough neighborhood.

ETHAN, early 20s, a white boy who grew up in an African American neighborhood and is now trying to fit in at a HBCU.

PHILLIPS, mid 30s – early 50s, is a police detective trying to break the allegiances between the college students on the right and the wrong side of the law.
