Submissions are welcome from all emerging filmmakers. To encourage student engagement in the local film and digital media production industry, we will introduce our first award for Best Student Film. High School students over the age of 16 are eligible to submit. A prize for this category will be determined by the quality and number of entries received.
Films will be evaluated by an esteemed jury of industry professionals, such as; film festival programmers and established filmmakers. The judging criteria will take into account elements such as quality of story line, creativity, production quality, acting, soundtrack and editing.
Short film submissions will be accepted on any topic. However, the piece must be family-friendly for all audiences (Rated PG or G), with no grotesque violence, nudity, or other inappropriate content. Films cannot be more than 8 minutes in length.
