Jesse Edwin MacDonald, (born June 18, 1975) is an American cinematographer, producer and director.
Jesse attended the University of Southern California where he received a Bachelor in Fine Art in 1999. It was at USC's Roski School of Fine Art studying photography, and illustration under the likes of Alfred Hitchcock's Art Director, Henry Bumstead. He there began to merge film with painting and illustration, culminating to his Graduate Thesis, a short film called "Document."
Jesse's merging of fine art and cinema would continue as the use of film was being challenged by a new digital cinema platform. Shooting film his whole life and longing for a more painterly look, Jesse started to experiment using older lenses. He was also pleased with what he discovered, that in 2005 Jesse started Old School Cameras, a company specializing in older lensing. Since then, countless productions have been led by his pioneering efforts and equipment.
