Virginia Tech, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), invites applications for a Broadcast Specialist/Producer. This is a 1500 hour wage position (no university benefits; limited to 1500 hours per year). Hourly rate is $15.00. Candidate must be able to work some holidays, weekends, and evening hours.
HokieVision is seeking a creative, self-motivated individual to join our team on a part-time basis. Must be interested in a career in video production, live game production, video editing, or in arena game production. The selected candidate will be part of the creative team and will assist with live streams, in-venue production, web productions, web content, and other aspects of HokieVision.
A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment. The selected candidate will exemplify Virginia Tech Athletics’ core values of Integrity, Service, Honor, Excellence, and Strong Together.

Experience / Skills

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Experience with non-linear edit systems such as Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere or similar software. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically PhotoShop and AfterEffects. Experience shooting sports highlights. Interest in a career in video production, live game production, video editing or in arena game production, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferences: Degree in related field. Previous experience with Division 1 athletics video department. Experience with in-game live production for in arena videoboards. Experience with live game production for internet streaming. Exposure to Ross Xpression, Ross Vision and/or Carbonite, Grass Valley K2 Replay. Creative ideas, script-writing and storytelling. Experience with lighting equipment. Experience with audio equipment.
