Repair all equipment on remote television units, mostly in the field. Supervise location crews up to 40 people (typically smaller). Interface with clients and independent contractors to achieve successful remote telecast. Submit clear and accurate reports on each telecast. Extensive travel, work overtime, weekends and holidays. Much of the work is under pressure.
The following physical requirements are typical, but not all inclusive: good eyesight and hearing; manual dexterity, including fine motor skills; standing and sitting for long periods of time; ability to maneuver up and down stairs; able to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.); calm under pressure; ability to travel, occasionally for extended periods.
Experience / Skills
7 years solid state electronics experience to preferably include: a minimum of 1 year high definition remote television experience; a working knowledge of digital video and digital audio; complete understanding ASIC Technology; extensive computer ability, to include networking technology-ethernet, ethernet wireless, IT and SMPT operating systems; extensive Microsoft operating systems experience; Lenox and Macintosh systems recommended; digital video encoding technology to include MPEGII and various transmission formats. Must be a self-starter with good leadership ability and client skills. Must have a valid driver license and a safe driving history, as determined by the company (driving record will be checked).
