The University of Wyoming is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Video Production/Lead Editor. This position will report to the Director of Video Production and serve as the main editor and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Audio/Visual Department Duties and Responsibilities include:

Create engaging on-demand video content for GoWYO.com, Wyoming Athletics social media accounts and video boards for fan consumption
Produce exciting pumper/hype videos and recruiting content for various formats, including video boards, social media, website and television
Work with Wyoming Athletics teams and programs to tell the story of our student athletes through narratives, features and in-depth interviews
Participate in weekly content development meetings with Marketing/Branding, Sports Information and Social Media departments
Remain current with emerging trends in video production with the intent to apply them to Wyoming Athletics video production projects
Work with Director of Video Production to develop new strategies/ideas to put UW Athletics on the forefront of college athletics video production
Works with Director of New Media to create and post content on a regular basis
Assist in training/supervision of A/V Grad Assistants and Interns
Assist in archiving video footage of all UW sports
Occasionally take part in live game-day productions (both in-venue video board shows and streamed broadcasts)
Maintains thorough knowledge of and adheres to all applicable University, Mountain West Conference and NCAA rules and regulations
Assist with other duties/projects as assigned/directed

Experience / Skills

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Video Production or other similar/applicable field
A minimum of 2 years of video production experience within collegiate or professional athletics
Experience with non-linear editing system (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid, ETC)
Experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop
Camera experience required


Desired Qualifications


Experience in creating pumper/hype and intro videos for video boards
Lighting for video
Shooting both interviews and live action with DSLR Cameras, specifically Canon and Lumix cameras
Panasonic P2 line of HD Video Cameras
Sports camera experience highly preferred
Successful candidate will be able to act independently or as part of a production team
Strong knowledge of editing and story-telling fundamentals
