Director of Broadcast & Video Production

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Director of Broadcast & Video Production (ACC Network Producer). This position is responsible for overseeing all facets of production for the Pitt Athletic Department’s ACC Network broadcasts. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): serving as the primary producer for ACC Network broadcasts; creating broadcast formats, graphics, and feature inserts; and training students and freelancers. The incumbent must be able and willing to operate broadcast control room equipment. The incumbent will work extensively with broadcast character generators and production switchers. The individual will need to work independently, but will also oversee the Assistant Director of Broadcast & Video Production (ACC Network Assistant Producer) and train freelance operators and students. The Director will manage the broadcast production budget. He/she must be willing to work nights and weekends and will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director of Broadcast & Video Production. A bachelor’s degree and at least three years of broadcast experience are required.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required

3-5 years experience

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

A minimum of three years’ broadcast experience is required, preferably in sports broadcasting. The candidate must be able to operate broadcast control room equipment including, but not limited to: character generator, production switcher, broadcast cameras, replay systems, and audio consoles. Remote production experience is preferred and as well as an understanding of signal flow and routing.
