Position Description:

The video production coordinator is responsible for coordinating and project-managing video and multimedia deliverables that educate, inspire and engage Foundation stakeholders. This is a demanding and rewarding role for someone with an established skillset in the technical and logistical aspects of production, strong attention to detail and excellent project management skills.

A self-sufficient and resourceful problem-solver, the production coordinator will work both independently and with internal and external teams (including freelancers and agencies) across the entire life cycle of production (ideation/conceptualization, project planning, pre-production, production, post-production, and delivery).

Fundamental responsibilities include:
• Coordinating production meetings and overseeing/managing production schedules
• Developing timelines and budgets
• Identifying and screening potential interviewees/participants
• Identifying locations for shoots
• Assembling shooting schedules; coordinating travel, equipment and food
• Organizing and contracting the various crew needed to make a video production happen; working closely with Finance on contracts and vendor payments
• Creating/coordinating props, signage and other physical requirements of production
• Creating and distributing call sheets for crew and participants
• Coordinating publicity release forms
• Attending and overseeing shoots as needed
• Overseeing all systems for storing and backing up footage; pulling footage as needed/requested to serve a range of projects
• Searching and acquiring music rights
• Organizing and contracting freelancers (designers, transcribers, animators, editors et al.)
• Gathering/organizing imagery, b-roll and other assets; coordinating media management platforms in collaboration with IT department
• Other duties as assigned

This is an onsite position in our New York City (Midtown West) office and is not conducive to telecommuting. Some travel is required. Given the high volume and fast pace of work at MJFF, we can consider only those candidates with a proven track record of (and passion for) managing multiple projects and deadlines at once.

Experience / Skills


Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (preferably in communications, journalism or RTF)
• Minimum of three to five years of experience in a professional video editing/producing environment (please be prepared to share a portfolio of video and multimedia projects you have led or substantially contributed to)
• Knowledge of the entire production process (pre-production, production, post-production)
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Studio as well as Adobe Photoshop;
• Knowledge of YouTube, Vimeo and rapidly evolving social media landscape
• Knowledge of media asset management platforms and solutions
• Knowledge of collaborative project management tools such as SmartSheet and Jira
• Top-notch project management skills — excellent organization, communication, flexibility and attention to detail
• Experience translating concepts into workplans and deliverables
• Diplomatic and professional demeanor; ability to work well with colleagues and external constituents at all levels
• Willingness to problem-solve and independently manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously, while also working as part of a team

Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) was founded in 2000 with one clear objective: accelerating meaningful therapeutic advances and, ultimately, a cure for Parkinson’s disease (PD). The Foundation applies extraordinary scientific, business and media assets to this singular focus—thus creating a unique and dynamic organization. Since inception, MJFF has quickly grown into the largest global funder of Parkinson’s disease research outside the U. S. federal government, having funded over $750 million in research projects in both academic and industry labs worldwide.

We believe that to find a cure for PD as quickly as possible, our capital needs to push research forward today—we therefore deliberately have no endowment. We instead start our fundraising from zero each year and seek to deploy funds raised as quickly and wisely as possible. MJFF raises over $90 million annually. Today, the Foundation has approximately 135 full-time employees who are based in New York City. This is an onsite position and is not conducive to telecommuting.
