Sporting News is looking for a Combat Sports Digital Content Producer as it continues to expand its growth in boxing and MMA. Applicants must have strong news judgment and writing skills, along with social media management experience, with expertise in boxing and MMA.

The producer’s primary responsibilities include writing, editing and helping to manage our social media accounts for combat sports. The successful candidate will be able to recognize breaking news and trending topics that have the potential for audience growth and engagement and understand how to promote content with the right tone on Sporting News’ social media platforms. Additionally, this role likely requires basic video production, with shooting and editing. The digital content producer will work with the senior editor and the rest of the team to create ideas to help establish SN as a leader in boxing and MMA.
The producer also should have broad editorial experience and sports knowledge, as the role also will help contribute to SN’s general sports coverage.

HERE’S YOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)

-Write/edit/cover essential news stories for target audience
-Write SEO content that fits with SN’s audience growth strategy and other key deliverables
-Manage SN’s combat sports social media accounts
-Site management- updating boxing and MMA section fronts
-Develop and produce enterprise/original content
-Video production of interviews and news events
-Editing and writing support for SN’s general sports coverage
