What part will you play?
We are looking for an Software Engineer to join our DevOps team. Our DevOps Engineers manage and monitor all aspects of our platform infrastructure. They are responsible for software deployments, configuration of CDNs and third party service providers, and remote server maintenance and configuration. We are entrusted with the security of remote servers, internal IT systems, and our infrastructure providers.
-As a SWE focused on video streaming, you will work closely with many different teams including the other Software Engineers across all client platforms, the product team, the design team and more. You will focus on implementing cutting-edge video features such as live metadata sync, synchronized video across multiple clients, efficient simultaneous multi-video playback, and instant multi-channel video switching.
-Maintain high availability for production systems on AWS, including after hours on- call duties.
-Design and implement backend software services (e.g. caching, connection pooling, etc.)
-Support development team in designing efficient, available, scalable, and measurable applications.
-Build automated application deployments using continuous integration.
-Support and scale our metrics/logging/alerting stack.
-Work across a diverse group of teams to provide support and knowledge.
Experience / Skills
What do we require from you?
-Experience scaling and monitoring a system of distributed services on -Linux hosts.
-Experience with most of: video transcoding systems, managing CDNs, AWS Redshift, Docker.
-Expertise in modern operations techniques – configuration management and infrastructure as code.
-Expertise with Amazon Web Services and Linux system administration.
-Familiarity with Python software development (including Django or Flask), distributed source control, and continuous integration systems.
-Familiarity with Go a plus.
Bonus points if...
-Experience with video delivery and CDNs.
-Experience in Security and/or DevSecOps.
