This Vice President, Native App Engineering is a senior leadership position within the Product Engineering group of The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International Technology division.

This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Product Engineering and is responsible for leading a large, global software engineering organization that is responsible for the development of DTCI Technology’s industry-leading mobile and connected device apps. This includes apps for iOS, Android, Roku, tvOS, Xbox, Playstation, Chromecast, Fire TV, Apple TV, cable set-top boxes, Smart TVs, and wearable devices.

The Vice President is directly responsible for developing consumer-facing product experiences for The Walt Disney Company’s portfolio of world-class brands such as ABC, Disney, ESPN, Lucasfilm, Marvel, and Pixar. The leader must establish a strong, collaborative, and productive partnership with DTCI business and product leaders.

The incumbent sets the vision and organizational structure of the Native App Engineering group and works closely with DTCI Technology leadership to define objectives and drive effective short and long-term strategies and plans.

The Vice President is strategic thinker with the ability to evaluate, prioritize, and execute large-scale engineering initiatives. The position requires a senior presence and excellent verbal and written communication skills.


-Leading and building a team of mobile and connected device engineering experts in Product Engineering organization.

Experience / Skills

Basic Qualifications:

-15-plus years of applicable experience in the software product industry and at least 10 years of management experience leading professionals.
-Ability to create and articulate a vision for the native app development strategy based on an understanding of market drivers, trends, competitive positions and opportunities.
-Demonstrated experience leading the development of complex, large-scale websites, mobile, and connected device applications.
-Demonstrated experience with developing products with robust live and on-demand video streaming capabilities.
-Strong business acumen with an understanding of the market and financial implications of new product development processes.
-Experience with high traffic, consumer-facing applications and direct responsibility for quality and performance considerations.
-Experience creating and deploying best practices and methodologies in a matrix workplace.
-Experience leading a global organization.

-Demonstrated excellence with verbal and written communication.

Required Education

-BS in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical degree, or equivalent professional experience.
