Our Director of New Media is an intricate part of the success of our content creation efforts. You will be instrumental in our distribution and engagement strategies. You are responsible for all tracking, scheduling and production aspects of our editorial and client-based content. You will also lead a production team on client and content assignments with significant involvement in writing, video, and podcast production.

Responsibilities:

-Content & Planning: Work with the EIC on developing a content strategy, which includes video, podcast and new media productions.

-Maintain the production content calendar and distribution.

-Creative Development – Work with the team on the development & execution of engaging activations, video, podcasts, events etc. Generate innovative ideas for driving engagement on our distribution points.

-Client project management and reporting with comprehensive budget and reports required for projects.

• Research: Must have a passion for food and lifestyle content: You have a passion and intellectual curiosity for new media, mobile, and digital production technologies, you keep abreast of the latest industry news, vendors and are savvy on new media best practices. Audit competitors’ online and social media efforts as well as general market research to ensure that the client is up to speed with all trends and pertinent competitor information.

• Writing & Communication: You have proven excellent communication skills and are empathetic and patient when dealing with difficult situations. You have impeccable writing skills with samples available. Bi-Lingual Spanish is a plus. Be prepared for a writing test.

• Project/Management & Organization: You must be a detail-oriented multitasker with the ability to lead several projects at once while still delivering the best work quality possible. Editorially, you ensure that your productions run smoothly, meet deadlines, and stay within budget. You have a clear understanding of the technical processes involved in production, post-production, and distribution. Ensure that all necessary licenses and clearances have been obtained for all productions. Ability to run production meetings with internal staff as well as clients.

• Positive Attitude: as this is very much a people’s business, we are sometimes faced with difficult moments & interactions. It is important that you are able to have a positive outlook on the situations that you are faced with and to always take pride in the quality of work produced.

Experience / Skills


Requirements

-5 years in a production or producer position with examples of work

-Superior Project Management

-Worked with post-production software, Premier, Adobe, Final Cut, Pro Tools

-Ability to bring creative concepts to life

-Excellent writing and presentation skills

-Technical and story-scripting test required
