The Uplink Engineer/Driver is responsible for the overall management, operation and quality of the Uplink mobile unit and will safely transport the unit to remote sites, with a focus on safety and professionalism. Working independently and making independent decisions, while maintaining a detail-oriented approach are keys to success.
-Maintains interior and exterior Uplink mobile unit in good working order and is responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of all systems on the unit:
-Ability to read and understand a basic wiring diagram
-Understanding of advanced video signal flow
-Understanding of basic audio signal flow
-Understanding of simple IP Networking
-Fiber cleaning and maintenance experience
-Setting up and deploying Satellite uplink truck
-Ability to learn the basics of HVAC systems
-Maintain inventory of the assigned equipment to the mobile unit
Design and implement complex transmission paths via:
-Combination of the above
-Basic understanding of power systems
-Understanding of Internet and Phone Systems including VOIP
-Basic soldering and cable repair to include replacing connectors of all types
-Provides Management and Director of Engineer with accurate tech reports on shows and equipment within twenty-four hours after the completion of the event.
-Drive Uplink truck or other vehicle to deliver Equipment in which is required for Transmission
-Performs DOT pre-trip inspection for defects and submits reports indicating truck condition. This includes:
-Inspecting engine, maintaining fluid levels and servicing engine when necessary
-Mobile unit presentation – washed and in presentable order
-Perform DOT post-trip inspection truck for defects after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
-Perform the function of any inventory post-event to ensure all gear is returned to mobile unit and in working order.
-Maintains driver log per DOT regulations.
-Assist engineers and crew workers in loading and unloading truck.
-Maintains record of expenses and completes trip reports (miles driven in each state).
-Submits receipts and reports promptly as necessary for reimbursement. All trip reports and expenses associated with event needs to be turned in within 5 working days after conclusion of event.
-Proper credit card use & cell phone policies in place must be followed accordingly.
-Acts as a representative of IMSP while traveling and presents a professional, courteous image always.
-Additional duties assigned by IMSP leadership.

Experience / Skills
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Minimum requirement of an associate degree in Electronics or 2 plus years’ experience in a Remote Satellite Transmission
-Must have a valid CDL class B.
-Experience with IP Networks is preferred.

85% travel to events and any other client needs as required, the position requires flexibility due to be an event driven business. More than likely required to work extended hours, may frequently work at night, and weekends.
