Battery Studios, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, is a mastering and archive studio that predominantly supports the catalog label of Sony Music, Legacy Recordings. We are currently seeking an Assistant Engineer to support our engineering staff and general operations.


-QC Work.
-Digital and analog tape transfers.
-File verification.
-Assisting Senior Mastering and Mastering Engineers in backups, editing, references, and master creation (CD, high resolution digital, MFiT, HD Tracks, Immersive audio and vinyl).
-Setup and breakdown of equipment.
-General studio support in covering phones, asset trafficking, and greeting clients.

Experience / Skills


-5+ years in a reputable commercial mastering, recording or archive facility as a General Assistant and / or Assistant Engineer.
-Bachelor’s Degree.
-Experience with analog (2”, ¼” and ½” tape machines) and digital (LTO, AIT, Exabyte) formats.
-Proficient in Protools (Logic and Ableton a plus).
-Working knowledge or better of Sequoia and experience with creating masters for production.
-Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word programs.
-Ability to create rough mixes; proven mix experience a plus.
-Prior work experience within a diverse mix of music genres.

Other Abilities: Works well in a team setting, detail oriented, good at multitasking, prioritizing, and time management, works well under pressure in a changing environment, excellent client relation skills.
