Contract - Media Communications Manager
The Media Communications Manager is a freelance contract opportunity responsible for coordinating and implementing marketing and advertising media communications to create brand awareness and ensuring that products and services resonate with current and potential clients; tracking and reporting
marketing data; maintaining promotional materials inventory; planning public image campaigns, meetings and trade shows; maintaining databases and digital platforms; arranging proposals and presentations using marketing resource materials such as brochures, data, slides, photographs, and status reports. Able to telework for most deliverables, but physical presence is required in Los Angeles
area. Occasional work on weekends and/or with short notice.



The Media Communications Manager oversees all physical and digital media, including content strategy implementation, email marketing, advertising, and social media; understands the power of a solid brand and how that foundation, along with the business vision, drives the marketing strategy across channels
and tactics. This contract opportunity does not have employee management responsibilities.

• Provides creative designs to produce high quality visual and verbal material
• Creates video media compilations as needed
• Edits and stylizes photographs and GIFs
• Creates memes
• Creates PDF brochures and print collaterals
• Designs graphics as needed
• Print production (collateral, postcards, brochures, stickers, swag, etc.)
• Structures and restructures processes and templates for consistency

• Constantly evaluates and improves areas of communication, marketing and brand management
• Takes brand ownership and ensures the vision, mission, goals and strategies match up
• Works with Chief Marketing Officer in channeling brand strategies into brand plans, brand positioning and go-to-market strategies
• Coordinates and manages marketing events to include open houses, ceremonial celebrations and tradeshows

• Works closely with the Chief Marketing Officer to develop an email calendar for a monthly newsletter, audience-specific campaigns, seasonal campaigns, content ideas for email, customer surveys, etc.
• Designs, builds, and writes emails in contact management software
• Creates email campaign lists from industry trade references

Organic and Social:
• Maintains social calendar, content, scheduling, posting, and reporting across channels
• Develops new ways to drive growth and engagement across channels
• Engages different audiences including employees, freelancers, current clients, and future clients
• Maintains digital platform currency and search engine optimization: website, social, IMDB, etc.
• Writes copy for press releases and other communications
• Communicates as needed with all incoming online contacts

• Works with Chief Marketing Officer for digital and print media campaigns
• Manages budget for campaigns, creative and implementation
• Designs swag and maintains inventory

• All deliverables are reviewed for qualty approval before implementation
• Delivers weekly and monthly reports with actionable intelligence from analytics, surveys, and other market data to CMO
• Delivers quarterly market trend analysis reports
• Provides approved newsletter and communications to management, staff, and clients

Experience / Skills


• Skilled in copy edits, grammar, video and photo editing, graphic design, social media management, deadlines, production, proofing, etc. in alignment of the mission and vision guiding every move.
• Advanced in social media functions, purpose, and tools (Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin,
Instagram, Vimeo, Quora, Reddit, Mail Chimp)
• Advanced in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere)
• Possess strong editing and proofreading skills with focused attention to detail and grammar
• Organized, conscientious, and proactive
• Quick learner, a problem solver, and comfortable wearing many hats
• Strong communicator; curious innovator with ongoing creative ideas
• Experienced with brand oversight, and skilled in visual positioning and application of the brand
• Some experience in trade show and event coordination

• Film, television, and or media industry experience preferred, but not required
• Maintains high standards despite pressing deadlines; does work right the first time; corrects own errors; regularly produces accurate, thorough, professional work
• Adheres to all workplace and trade safety laws, regulations, and standards; identifies and reports conditions that affect worker safety
