WKYC in Cleveland is seeking an experienced, energetic News Producer to join our newsroom. If you like to produce fast-paced, creative newscasts and enjoy working in a team environment, we want to hear from you. In this role, you will:

-Encourage innovation and risk-taking in crafting great newscasts through evoking emotion and showcasing
-Write and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting and digital platform
-Develop content through social listening and independent sources
-Be a top-notch communicator
-Work collaboratively with other producers and staff members
-Skillfully use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content
-Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner
-Write and post on all digital platforms including social media
-Research for facts and credibility
-Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories
-Be able to handle assignment desk duties including phone news gathering, crew coordination and other duties as assigned
-Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer

Experience / Skills


-BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field
-1-2 years of experience preferred
-Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
-Understanding the tenets of professional journalism
-Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content
-Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook
-Knowledge of ENPS, Edius and Axis graphics a plus
-Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines
-Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
