Overview: Gravity Media is seeking to fill a Studio Utility position that will be responsible for ensuring the success of live to tape events by performing the technical aspects related to live to tape event audio. The Studio Utility position will assist in all aspects of production when needed.

Essential Duties:

 Production support of live and recorded programming requires a familiarity of broadcast IT infrastructure which includes:
o Technical spaces (control rooms, and studios)
o Associated production systems (A/V and data routing, signal processing, cameras, switchers, audio mixers, intercom)
 Pull and terminate all types of video, audio and control cabling
 Perform the installation, and basic maintenance of broadcast and IT equipment at outside broadcast facilities in a fast-paced production environment
 Perform general technical duties such as; low-level audio/video switching, hardware connectivity, signal routing, cable terminations and establishing general signal flows
 Work with Operations staff to ensure the proper execution and delivery of projects

Experience / Skills


Qualifications:

 0-2 years in a TV production environment (preferably remote), in a utility role
 Education or training in TV production or computer platforms, IP/IT technologies
 Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with television or multimedia production workflows
 Hands-on experience with audio/video switching, connectivity, routing, terminations and signal flow
 Demonstrated familiarity with basic server, networking topology and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Unix, etc.)
 SBE or SMPTE certification(s)
 Self-motivated & Resourceful - Ability to solve unusual or unexpected problems
 High level of organization
 Must be able to communicate effectively in a team
 Excellent soldering skills
Physical Requirements:
 Ability to sit, reach outward or above the shoulder, stand, walk, handle with fingers, stand, bend, and stoop.
 Ability to operate a keyboard, view a video display terminal screen, ability to use telephone equipment.
 Must be able to climb ladders up to 24 feet tall and lift up to 50 pounds and push and/or pull 30 pounds.
