The University of Notre Dame is accepting applications for a Video Engineer.

This position is responsible for engineering activities and technology support for Notre Dame media events, and coordinating fulfillment of technical needs with broadcasters for live televised events from Notre Dame facilities; also supporting media production. The Video Engineer will provide support and maintenance of television production equipment, computer networks and subsystems; make design recommendations and implement new technologies; rapidly diagnose video system and IT problems; provide alternative solutions if needed to maintain deadlines; have full understanding of technical facility, broadcast video/audio and IT-type production equipment and systems; have technical experience and exposure to broadcast television production equipment including file-based production systems, switchers, graphics, replay, radio, IP router, digital audio, cameras, transmission and encoding equipment; and knowledge of design, documentation and integration of television and post-production systems.

This position requires working a rotating schedule which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Engineering-related field and/or Broadcast Engineering training.
3-4 years experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include (1) field/remote experience and/or mobile unit experience and (2) broadcast equipment maintenance experience.
Knowledge of:

• IT Network systems

• IP-based video technology systems

• Production applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Blackmagic DaVinci

• Demonstrated continuing education of technology and industry trends
